Leaning on ACM TURC 2017, the vision of this forum includes, but not limited to, providing a platform for universities and enterprises to exchange ideas, share information, and attract talents, exhibiting the unprecedented opportunities and promise, abundant resources, and vast space potential for computer science in western China, discussing the development and promotion of computer science in western China, as well as the cooperation with prestigious computer science organizations.

Title: Exploration of the Selection and Cultivation for Top-notch Innovative Computer Talents

Bio: Prof. Qinghua Zheng, winner of the National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists and the Distinguished Professor for Yangtze River Scholar Project, is a candidate for “the New Century National Hundred Thousand-and-Ten Thousand Talents Project” and one of the first batch of leading scientists for the “Ten-Thousand Talents Project” for science and technology innovation. He is the person in charge of the Innovative Research Team for Science and Technology under the Ministry of Education. He has served as the Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Telecommunication School and the Deputy Dean of the Networking School. Now, he serves as the vice-president of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Major Research Fields: Theory and technology of intelligent e-Learning environment, Network public opinion and harmful information monitoring, and Software reliability evaluation.

Ling Gao (Xi’an Polytechnic University)

Title: The development opportunity of computer science talents in Western Universities

Bio: Professor Gao’s research mostly lies at the management, security and performance of computer network, embedded internet service, network application service, educational information and technology. He presided one national science and technology support plan project, two National Science and Technology Support Projects, two National Natural Science Foundation projects, two Shaanxi Province “13115” Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Projects on Public Service Platform Construction, one Doctoral Scientific Found Project of Ministry of China. Up to now, Prof. Gao has published over 130 papers in related journals and conferences, 50 of which have been indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. He has gained 5 national invention patents and 28 software copyrights. He is a member of information security professional teaching steering committee of the ministry of education, the Chinese society of computer network and data communication committee Member, deputy director of the professional committee of the IEEE Member, director of education informatization branch of China's higher education institute, education informatization of shaanxi province, director of the expert committee Member, etc.

Guangming Shi (Xidian University)

Title: R&D and Innovative Talents Cultivate Program of Xidian

Bio: Guangming Shi, male, born in 1965, executive vice president of academy of science in Xidian University, Professor II, Distinguished Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars, researched and cooperated in UIUC of the U.S. and University of Hong Kong. Served as a science and technology committee direction subject matter expert, Ministry of education GF department science and technology committee member, Chair of IEEE CASS Xian Chapter，Vice Chair of IET Xian Network, IEEE Senior member, IET Fellow, member of the Ministry of Education Experimental Teaching Steering Committee (2006 - present). Research interests include imaging and computational vision, remote sensing detection, pattern recognition and cognitive processing, brain computing, EEG signal processing. He presided over the direction of the brain machine learning direction of the National Natural Science Foundation project, supported by the National 863 project and the project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the last 973 years, more than one hundred papers have been published in the major journals and academic conferences in the past five years, including TASMI, TNNLS, IJCV, TIP, TSP, TCSVT, PR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, DCC and so on. He published papers cited 4232 times by Google (as of 2016/11/23), the highest single reference 568 times. He has more than 30 patents, the research results applied to the national space program. He published a monograph on the direction of the theory of compression perception (to be published in 2017), which won the first prize in Shaanxi Province Science and Technology Achievement and the International Conference VCIP and ISCAS Best Student Paper Award. He trained an outstanding scholars in Microsoft, two outstanding doctoral thesis in Shaanxi Province, a young scholar of Cheung Kong Scholars and won the second prize of international teaching achievement and excellent teacher title of Bao Gang.

Bio: Yahong Li, Female, Han nationality, born in April 1958 in the city of Fu Feng in Shaanxi province. Bachelor of Engineering and certified senior engineer. Began working in November 1976. Rong Yang (Xi’an Pioneering Park Development Center Investment Management Co., Ltd)

Bio: Yang Rong, Senior Economist, currently holds posts of Vice Director in Xi’an Pioneering Park Development Center and also works as the General Manager of Xi'an Pioneering Park Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. Bio: Lei Mi received his doctor degree of Optics from Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the founding partner and chief technical officer of CAS Star; founding partner of XiKe Angel; executive director of Shaanxi Institute of Advanced Optoelectronic Integrated Circuit Technologies. He is also the presenter of "Deep Technology" in China; the sponsor of Deep Technology Innovation Alliance. He has been working on research and practice of deep technological entrepreneurship, presented the idea that technological entrepreneurship will be the theme of future development in the next 30 years in China. The alliance is committed to create the "rainforest ecosystem" of deep technological entrepreneurship. Now it has become the incubator of 150 successful deep technological enterprises.

Kai Ye (Xi’an Jiaotong University)

Bio: Prof. Kai Ye obtained his PhD from Leiden University in the Netherlands. He was an assistant professor at Leiden University Medical Center, Washington University in St. Louis. He was awarded as 1000 young talents and joined Xi'an Jiaotong University for interdisciplinary research on automation, computer sciences, biomedical sciences. He works on bioinformatics projects, especially sequential pattern mining algorithms and their applications in biomedical projects. Since 2008, prof. Ye developed a series of algorithms for effective and efficient genome sequence analysis. Due to his important contribution to the genomic data analysis, he was invited to join 1000 Genomes Project, the Cancer Genome Atlas, the International Cancer Genome project as well the Genome of the Netherlands. Prof. Ye has published over 50 research papers, including Nature, Science, PNAS, Nature Genetics, Nature Methods, Nature Medicine, Nature Communications, Genome Research and Bioinformatics. According to google scholar, his total citation has reached 17,000 and the most cited paper has been cited 4954. There are 15 papers with citation records over 100 and his h-index is 25.

Chen Li (Xi’an Jiaotong University, 1000 Youth Plan)

Bio: Professor Chen Li graduated from the Unversity of Cambridge and did postdoctoral research in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before becoming a research scientist in MIT. In 2016, he joined the Xi'an Jiaotong University. His research focuses on designing data-driven model to syntactically and semantically analysing texts, especially automated collection of evidential statements of gene-disease associations.

Chengchen Hu (Xi’an Jiaotong University)

Bio: Chengchen Hu received the Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2008. Now, he is a professor and the head of the Department of Computer Science and Technology in XJTU. His main research interests include network measurement, cloud data center networking, software defined networking. He has published more than 70 papers in high competitive venues including INFOCOM, CoNext, ICDCS, ToN, TComm, JSAC. He severed in the organization committee and technical program committee of several conferences, e.g., INFOCOM 2012-2017, IWQoS 2010, GLOBECOM 2010–2017, ICC 2011–2016, ANCS 2014-2015/2017, Networking 2014-2017, etc. He is recipient of a fellowship from the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM), Microsoft “Star-Track” Young Faculty Program, New Century Excellent Talents in University awarded by Ministry of Education, China. He received best paper award of HotData 2014, ICoC 2014/2016 and best paper runner-up of ICDCS 2016.

Xiaojiang Chen (Northwest University)

Bio: Dr. Xiaojiang Chen is a Professor of Computer Science at the North West University. His research interest includes wireless networks, delay tolerant networks, sensor networks, mobile smart sensing, and mobile computing. His research has been continuously supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He has published over 50 papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences, such as Mobicom, CoNext, Infocom, ICNP, ICDCS, NDSS, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking(TON), IEEE/ACM Transactions on Mobile Computing(TMC),IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics (TIE), IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications(TWC).

Jinsong Han (Xi’an Jiaotong University)

Bio: Jinsong Han is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his Ph.D. of Computer Science from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007. His work focuses on wireless network, mobile computing, and security. He was the winner of Hong Kong ICT Awards - Best Innovation & Research Award (Silver Award). He is the PI of several important projects, including HongKong ITF, NSFC’s Key and general programs, etc. He has published over 30 innovative works in highly ranked journals (TON, TMC, TKDE, etc.) and top-tier conference proceedings (ACM CCS, UbiComp, Sensys, IEEE INFOCOM, ICNP, etc.) He is an IEEE senior member and an ACM senior member.

Junzhao Du (Xidian University)

Bio: Prof. Junzhao Du, Male, Xidian University, Professor of Software School and Software Engineering Institute, PhD Advisor. Senior Member of China Computer Society, ACM and IEEE members, ACM Xi'an Branch Vice General Secretary. Mainly engaged in wireless sensor network system, mobile cloud computing and large data processing system research. Visiting Scholar of Department of Computer Science, Wayne State University, USA. Communications reviewer of National Natural Science Foundation and Scientific research start fund of ministry of education overseas. Published more than 50 SCI / EI papers in IEEE Transaction on Vehicular Technology and other important academic journals, ACM UbiComp and other international conference.
